On March 24th, 2026, Wordly’s meeting bots were unavailable from 8 AM until about 11:14 AM PDT across all meeting platforms. One of the software vendors that Wordly utilizes to help provide meeting bot functionality had an unexpected database failure that resulted in cascading failures within their system. This impacted Wordly’s meeting bots as they rely, in part, on the services of this vendor being functional.
The software vendor was able to identify the issue and started to bring their system back online at around 10:32 AM PDT. By 11:14 AM PDT, the issue was resolved and meeting bots were, once again, functional.
We will be improving the monitoring and alerting around this integration so that we are able to respond more quickly in the event of any failures that may impact the meeting bots. Additionally, we will be looking into the feasibility of fallback mechanisms and other mitigation strategies that will result in shorter downtimes if a similar incident were to happen again.
